About

I research, build, create

Hey there, I'm Luciano Oliva Bianco, but folks call me Lulox *

At two years old I took my first steps
and I'm not talking about walking.

To play games on DOS,
I had to type in a word and hit ENTER
That was it.
But hey, it was something.

I've always been a curious self-taught kid,
productive and proactive
(most of the time)

Case in point:
at 10 I built my first desktop PC,
at 12 my first websites for my Neopets.

All through grade school
and my freshman year of high school,
I was always near the top of the class
(without studying much)

I'd rather teach myself other stuff,
so high school took a back seat.

I watched a ton of movies and documentaries.
I could see the Matrix.
A bit of a psychedelic conspiracy nut
With every kind of music playing.

All of that thanks to The Pirate Bay.
Its forums talked about torrents,
P2P, open source, the freedom of knowledge.

And all of that was Bitcoin,
money instead of information
P2P, transparent, open source.

It blew my mind.

I did Bitcoin mining
on my homebuilt PC back in 2009 or 2010, I can't even remember,

I ended up with a few tokens...
But I couldn't find a way to cash them out to pesos!

Being a rookie
at handling money,
I stored the seed phrase
without much care...

Well, that's gone for good,
but it taught me one big lesson:
in the long run, Bitcoin goes up,
and the dollar goes down, in purchasing power.

I celebrated when we broke through
1 bitcoin, 1 dollar.

I got bummed out when we broke below
1 satoshi, 1 peso.

I tried to make it through several universities.

I gave Law, Image and Sound and Computer Science a shot.
The only thing that changed was how they bored me.

In 2015 I started working at FEDUN,
a federation of university faculty.

Part of my job was filming
classes and workshops by international guests
talking about the latest in education,
technology, and audiovisual production.

Getting to chat one-on-one
with professors and deans
was something I really loved.

It was finally the college experience I'd been looking for.
I felt more at home with them than with the students.

Later on, around 2018,
they talked me into studying film at UNA Audiovisuales.
And I gave it a fair shake.

I was passionate about
storytelling and aesthetics,
the symbolic and the spiritual,
creating dreams you could play back again and again.

I wanted my first feature to be a cult classic,
though maybe not The Room kind of cult.

In 2020, with the pandemic,
remote learning just wasn't for me.

I went all in on trading,
development and blockchain.

"Trading" went great for me in 2021,
the market rewarded bad decisions,
and I'd become an expert at making them.

Case in point:
after I lost 85% of my capital in a single month,
I bought NFTs from Axie Infinity and ICE Poker,
which would go on to lose
over 90% of their value too.

You live and learn.

In 2022 I was one of the first
to use ChatGPT when it went public,
since I already had a beta account
from trying out DALL-E
to generate images.

I felt my ability
to develop ideas and concepts
kick into high gear, on the spot.

Once again I felt that inexplicable thing
I'd felt when I first found Bitcoin.

There it was, the future of technology.
Again.

In 2023 I had another huge formative experience,
courtesy of BuidlGuidl,
the Ethereum Foundation's builder DAO.

With them I learned a whole lot
about blockchain, smart contracts,
and building dApps, websites that talk to them.

And on top of that, I got paid to learn!
Ah, those were the days.

In 2024 that chapter closed.
I started entering hackathons,
and won a few.

I also started hitting coworking spaces
to see what other folks were up to
at startups
riding the crest of the wave.

Crecimiento ("growth" in Spanish) made me grow,
both professionally
and as a person.

There I learned about startups,
got to know the local ecosystem
and people from all over the world.

I enjoyed every single day there,
I even went into debt
living on cheap food
just to spend more time there

Concepción Live was a beautiful place.
If you were there, you know what I'm talking about.

In 2025 I started working
at Input Output Group,
which had just opened offices
in Torre Catalinas Plaza.

Being new in town, they needed talent
to help them hit their goals in the country.

I went to an asado with the team,
then I checked out the offices, they put me to the test,
and before long I was spending my days with them.

There I also got to know
more of the local ecosystem
and people from all over the world.

I started out building automations with n8n
and a web app to round out
the team's workflow with online tools,

Whenever they asked me to research something,
I felt it pulled me away from my main role.

Then the shift got impossible to miss,
AI agents made everything easier,
building and automating included.

Automations that used to take days
now took hours, tops.

But my role wasn't just development,
it was development and research

I'm grateful I picked up
solid methodology and judgment.

That led me to recently co-author,
alongside well-known professionals
and English-speaking professors,
papers on tokenization and agentic commerce.

I live in La Boca, Buenos Aires.

I like a good coffee,
a good smoke,
and a good conversation.

If you're more of a cat person
than a dog person,
we've got something in common.

And if not, maybe we still do.
